The funny thing about deadlines

The funny thing about deadlines is the opposite weight they give to days. As each passes, instead of becoming lighter, the remaining leadened.

It is carrying a bucket that fills with more water, as the place it's being taken to grows farther away.

One would think it would be as if you have spilled a little liquid with each step, and you reach your location to realize that you have to return to the well, because your bucket is empty.

Some might argue an empty bucket is the sign of completion and the whole point is to drain it dry.

Ooh, good comparison. I know some people work better under deadlines, but they're just likely to make me panic, and when I panic I don't work efficiently.
